More Than 1,000 People Run Charity Marathon to Raise Money for Orphans

BATTAMBANG: More than 1,000 people participated in the 2022 Humanitarian Marathon to raise funds to help orphans in Battambang.

The 2022 Battambang Humanitarian Marathon was held on Wednesday, 19 January, in front of Battambang Provincial Hall. This is the fourth event organized by the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia in Battambang, in collaboration with the provincial administration, in order to raise funds to help orphans in the province.

Deputy Governor of Battambang Province, Thou Phea, said that this is the most valuable humanitarian event organized by the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia in Battambang. He said that this activity contributes to the benefit of society, and acts as a model for other young people to observe and participate in developing and building the nation.

After running the 5 km race, the first place in the men's category went to 51-year-old foreigner MIRoSHi AVE, second place to 33-year-old foreigner Dauey Cal ko, and third place to 21-year-old Soy Meas from Phnom Proek district. In the women's category, first place went to a 55-year-old foreigner named AGNES, second place to 30-year-old New Chamrom, and third place to 16-year-old Ra Thida, a student at Monivong High School.
